I am free in a different world

Catherine Lind's new book "I am free in a different world", is the autobiographical story of what it’s like to grow up in a family with a mentally ill mother. To understand as a child what it means when your mother is different, is a far too big an issue to be able to absorb and put into words. As an adult, accepting that my mother will never be like the dream every daughter carries within her, is difficult to handle on a completely different level.

"I am free in a different world" is published in Swedish, but will be translated during 21/22.

Kapitel 1: Stormen

Vinden ven med ett öronbedövande ljud runt huset, ett komplext och skrämmande ljud. I bakgrunden fanns ett otäckt susande som aldrig riktigt slutade. I förgrunden knakade och tjöt det i takt med att hela huset skallrade, vilket skapade ett olycksbådande dovt ljud. She sat there staring through the airplane window. It was blue sky as far as Helena could see – no other planes, no nothing. If she leaned towards the window, she could see the clouds down below. It was the perfect weather for traveling.
